In the first overtime period, Micah Beckstead started things off with a one-yard rushing TD to give the Thunderbirds a 23-16 lead. When it was Lehi’s turn, Jackson Brousseau ran in the touchdown from two yards out to tie the game at 23 and the game went to double overtime.

In the second overtime period, both teams turned the ball over on downs, forcing the third overtime.

After a Lehi interception in triple overtime, Jackson Brousseau threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Kolton Tanner to end the game. The Lehi Pioneers repeated as 5A state champions with a 29-23 win over the Timpview Thunderbirds in triple overtime at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
